Cost relating to ACA training, including student registration, tuition, exam registration, credit for prior learning and learning materials.

Training authorisation

Authorisation to train ACA students is free to UK based employers and to employers in countries where ACA training is established. If you are interested in training ACA students and are based in a country where ACA training is not established we will discuss costs with you at an early stage in the authorisation process. Any costs will be limited to travel and accommodation.

Student registration fees

Training employers are charged an annual fee in arrears for each of their registered students. The 2009 fee is £165 per student per year excluding VAT. The full amount is payable irrespective of when a student leaves your employment or becomes a member during the year.

Independent students

Independent students are charged an initial fee of £165 to become a registered student. They are then charged and annual fee of £165 excluding VAT on the 1 January following the date of registration.

Tuition fees

The ICAEW works with high-quality tuition providers across the world to deliver the training for the ACA. Fees are set by the tuition provider depending on course structure and type (eg residential, block or home-study).

Exam entry fees

It is common, but not compulsory, for a training employer to pay exam entry fees on behalf on their students.

Credit for prior learning costs

Credit for prior learning is available for those students who have taken prior relevant qualifications or learning.

Learning materials costs

• Professional Stage - knowledge modules: £25 per module
• Professional Stage - application modules: £40 per paper
• Advanced Stage - technical integration modules: £140 (study pack covers both TI papers)
• Advanced Stage - case study: £70 for the case study

Invoices

Invoices will be sent to the qualified person responsible for training (QPRT) unless we are notified otherwise.
