If your accountant is registered with us and their work falls short, you can complain to ICAEW. Remember we can only get involved in your complaint if the individual, student or firm is regulated by ICAEW.
Before you make a complaint
First though, it is important to remember that in many cases, issues can be resolved by talking to your accountant.
If talking doesn't resolve things, you should write to your accountant and ask them to respond within 28 days. If you find you are still unable to resolve the problem, or the nature of the issue(s) means that you need to contact us, we are here to help.
Please note complaints relating to Insolvency or Money Laundering follow slightly different processes to other types of complaint.
- Guidance on how to report misconduct and make a report (for ICAEW members only)
- You can raise a Money Laundering concern here
- Insolvency complaints should be directed to the Insolvency Service in the first instance
