Find out about Jas's experience as an ICAEW Council member.
I am a Financial Accountant in industry, having previously gained a breadth of experience in practice with both small and large firms over several years. I am passionate about giving back to the accountancy profession, so during my ACA training I volunteered with my local ICAEW student society. After qualifying, I took on the role of Chair of the ICAEW Student Council, representing thousands of ACA students worldwide.
My journey into Council was driven by a desire to ensure students’ voices are heard at the highest levels and to gain invaluable insight into ICAEW’s operations. The experience has been incredibly enriching—I have had the privilege of meeting some wonderful individuals from diverse backgrounds and witnessing key discussions and ideas unfold at the forefront of our profession.
I am genuinely excited to continue my involvement with Council and wholeheartedly encourage anyone interested to take that step forward. Although I joined as one of the youngest members, I was warmly welcomed and supported, showing that age or experience should never be a barrier to meaningful contribution.
