Our vision is that ICAEW Chartered Accountants enable a world of sustainable economies
Ever since 1880, when we were founded by Royal Charter ‘for the public benefit’, our contributions to both the economy and the public interest have widened, and the reach and influence of our work has expanded.
We believe our global community can and should be a force for good, supporting prosperity in ways which are both responsible and resilient – not just financially, but socially and environmentally too.
Our members are key agents of trust, making possible the conduct of business on a fair, transparent and accountable basis.
The next ten years are critical – truly a decade of transformation. How we respond to the risks, trends and other powerful factors will largely decide the shape and role of ICAEW in 2030.
Implementing and assessing our Strategy
Our Strategic Foundations are the three core pillars of activity through which we serve the public interest and are the functions which have defined us for much of our existence.
Our Strategic Themes group together major new activities that we will undertake to achieve our key strategic outcomes.
Our Strategy will embrace continuity, challenge and change. Our success will depend on adapting and applying time-honoured values to the conditions created by systemic change.
Our achievements will be measured in the rigour and relevance of our qualifications, by the innovation and expertise we demonstrate in our technical, training and regulatory output and, above all, by the professional reputation and ethical standing of our global community of ICAEW Chartered Accountants.
