Exam disruption appeal applies to circumstances where you feel that your performance in an exam has been adversely affected by illness or other circumstances.

How do I make an exam disruption appeal application for a Professional or Advanced Level exam?
If you wish to apply, you must submit an online application with any supporting evidence within seven days of the exam. Visit exams online and choose the exam level you have recently taken. Click ‘Apply for exam disruption appeal’ and complete the online exam disruption appeal application.

What is the deadline to apply for exam disruption appeal?
The deadline to apply for exam disruption appeal is seven days from your exam. For example, if you sit an exam on a Monday you will have until 23:59 the following Monday to submit your exam disruption appeal application.

Do I make a separate exam disruption appeal application per exam I am applying for or can all exams go on the same application?
If you wish to apply for more than one exam, you must submit an individual application for each exam and must meet the seven day deadline relating to each individual exam.

How do I modify my exam disruption appeal application?
If you wish to modify a exam disruption appeal application, go to exams online and choose the level you made the application for. Go to your existing application and click 'Additional information/documents'. Select the level of which application you are amending and this will bring up your existing application. You will be able to add the additional information in the textbox and click submit.
You will only be able to edit the application whilst the timescale is still open. Once the deadline for exam disruption appeal has passed, you are unable to edit your application.

How do I check whether my application has been successfully submitted?
You will receive an acknowledgement email once your exam disruption appeal application has been submitted. You can check the progression of your application via exams online. Go to your existing application. Select ‘add additional information’. If you can see the word ‘accepted’ under the 'status' column, this means we have received your application.

What are the potential outcomes of a exam disruption appeal application?
If your exam disruption appeal application has met the basic criteria, your application will be reviewed by the Assessment review panel.
The committee may deem an exam void appropriate if you were to fail the exam. They may decide that a mark adjustment is more appropriate for your individual circumstances.
The Assessment Committee may also decline your application completely if they deem appropriate.

Will I lose my pass mark if my exam disruption appeal application is accepted?
If you have applied for exam disruption appeal but have passed your exam, you will not lose your pass mark.

Can I gain marks following an exam disruption appeal application?
If your exam disruption appeal application is accepted, the Assessment Committee may award a marks adjustment depending on your individual circumstances.

If I have my marks increased following an exam disruption appeal application but I have still failed, will I receive a fail mark or will the exam be a void?
The Assessment Committee will review your application and make a decision based on your individual circumstances. They may deem that a void of your exam is more suitable. If they deem a marks adjustment is more suitable, your mark may stay, irrespective of the exam mark still being a failure.
