Biography

I hold a 1st Class Honours degree from City University Business School in the UK in Insurance & Investment.

I am a KPMG UK qualified, prize winning, Chartered Accountant with 28 years of experience in telecommunications, financial (Banking & Insurance) and professional services organisations with cross border and cross functional exposure across the UK, Hong Kong SAR and Bangladesh.

The more recent focus of my career has been in the Telecommunication sector in Bangladesh. As part of my experience with KPMG UK, I have worked for world class organisations such as Virgin Atlantic Airlines and other UK listed companies.

I am self-motivated, results driven and commercially astute and have been in senior business partnering, management and strategic leadership roles over the last 13 years. As a change agent, I have delivered transformational initiatives across the organisation and under challenging circumstances.

During my 7 years in Grameenphone (the largest listed company in Bangladesh) I had the opportunity to lead all the major Finance functions including Treasury, Financial Accounting, Tax & Fiscal Compliance and Business Performance Management.

I have had significant exposure to both Group Management and to the Local Board and its sub-committees, and had the responsibility to engage with local regulators including Bangladesh Bank (BB), Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission (BSEC), National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
