Biography

Bonnie heads the People agenda in BDO in Malaysia and oversees the support functions within the firm namely, Human Resource, Finance, Corporate Office, Business Development/Marketing and Administration. She assists the Management Committee in strategising and managing these functions to support and sustain business needs and goals.

Bonnie was an Executive Director, Advisory at BDO in Malaysia. She has been involved in various advisory engagements including internal audit reviews, enterprise risk management reviews, corporate governance reviews, corporate recovery and restructuring, financial due diligence assistance and forensic reviews.

Prior to joining BDO, Bonnie was a Director of Corporate Advisory at KPMG Malaysia. Her involvement in the Corporate Advisory field includes share valuations, mergers and acquisitions, business and financial review, debt and corporate restructuring, financial due diligence assistance and financial modelling.

She has over 18 years of financial advisory and audit experience in various industries including trading and retail, oil & gas, logistics and insurance, property, construction and engineering, power, water, edible oil, port, motor, consumer market, industrial products and hospitality.

She also has Corporate Advisory experience with KPMG Hong Kong during which she was involved in corporate turnaround exercises, non-performing loan reviews and financial due diligence assistance.

Bonnie is the Chairperson of the ICAEW Members Society, Malaysian Chapter, and she also serves as a member of the MIA Council.

Biography

Nik Shahrizal is currently the Secretary of the ICAEW Members’ Society, Malaysian Chapter.

Nik is a Partner in PwC Malaysia and has over twenty years of assurance and advisory experience in the UK and Malaysia. He specialises in the area of governance, risk and compliance and has conducted a wide range of engagements with government linked institutions and blue-chip companies.

Nik is a member of ICAEW and the CFA Institute. He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and an MBA from the University of Cambridge. He is passionate in education and mentoring activities and is an active volunteer in Malaysia.
