Biography

Khalid AnsariKhalid Ansari was a Partner in KPMG Oman office, 1995-2018 and resident in Oman since 1986. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Government College of Commerce and Economics, Karachi, and obtained his Intermediate and Matriculation qualifications from Cadet College Petaro.

Khalid joined KPMG office in the UK in 1980, and qualified as Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He was transferred to the Oman Office of KPMG in 1986. He is the Partner responsible for providing audit services to banking and financial services clients in Oman. He was also the Partner in charge of Advisory Services in Oman.

He has also been involved in several advisory assignments including:

  • due diligence reviews;
  • business valuations;
  • financial feasibility reports;
  • assisting in the floatation of public companies
  • revival of sick industries
  • mergers and acquisitions
  • business process re-engineering.

Khalid has also advised the Government of the Sultanate of Oman in the privatization of power companies, sea and air port, and public transport company. He has also advised Capital Market Authority in the development of code of corporate governance and the proposed new commercial companies law.

Khalid is Honorary auditor of Oman Charitable Organisation, Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children in Oman.

In 1990 Khalid presented a paper to the Ministry of Finance on Omanisation of Accountancy Profession and since then he is responsible for managing KPMG's training programme for Omanis.

Since 1 October 2018, he worked as the Chief Executive Officer of Al Anwar Holdings SAOG, a public listed company in the Muscat Securities Market. Alanwar has investments in manufacturing, financial services and education sectors. Khalid retired on 12 August 2021.

Since 14 August 2021 he has bee Founder and Chief Executive Officer of recently established Consulting firm called: Khalid Masud Ansari & Partners LLC.
