Accountancy Profession Strategic Forum

Our vision

The Accountancy Profession Strategic Forum (APSF) provides a framework to encourage and assist participating professional accountancy organisations (PAOs) to strengthen their relevance and their contribution to economic growth in the public interest. Since the first roundtable in 2012, the APSF continues to facilitate highly interactive exchanges of perspectives of critically important issues for the profession while enabling peer-to-peer discussions on the strategic direction and ambition of individual professional bodies.

Several collaborative initiatives have evolved out of the annual APSF meeting of all participating bodies. These initiatives enable different groupings of professional bodies to come together in a practical, cost-effective and outward-looking way to address specific needs and challenges facing the profession. They include the Quality Assurance Networks (QAN) for accountancy services and non-PIE audit, as well as the Financial Integrity Network (FIN).

A core objective of the APSF and associated work streams is that of enhancing interaction between PAOs and the national, European and international regulatory community to encourage better collaboration and shared understanding of the challenges facing the profession.

The Annual APSF Meeting

The annual meetings of the APSF are structured to promote timely sharing and provide a learning experience for all participants, with no formal distinction between speakers and participants. The key themes discussed continue to evolve organically, reflecting previous discussions as well as suggestions made in ongoing conversations between participants. The 2020 APSF annual meeting has been postponed due to the Covid-19 situation.
