As part of the Better Government Series, ICAEW Europe Region has launched a new research report on Public Finances in Practice at a lively event in Brussels on 28 February.
Based on interviews with senior finance professionals in 10 EU member states, the report shares insights on the practical issues facing public finance functions across Europe, focused on issues relating to structure, process and people. The report was welcomed as particularly timely by our keynote speaker, Nadia Calvino, Director General at DG Budget (European Commission). Chaired by Ross Campbell, the panel also included Ludek Niedermayer MEP, Peter Welch (EU Court of Auditors), Vasilis Katrivesis (Hellenic Ministry of Finance) and Philipp Haefner (Court of Auditors, Hamburg).
