Who we are
We’re a diverse group of LGBT+ staff and allies from across ICAEW – primarily UK and South East Asia. Our common goal is to ensure that ICAEW remains an open, inclusive and progressive place to work.
Together has two Co-Chairs: Qayam Abdul, Professional Education Manager in the ICAEW Partner in Learning team; and Sarah Hobbs, Senior Marketing Executive within the Global Student Recruitment and Marketing Team.
Here are a few words from Qayam:
"As Co-Chair of the Together community it is my passion and primary objective to actively promote an equal and inclusive workplace for all ICAEW employees who relate to LGBTQ. This is regardless of race, gender, disability, age, faith or sexual orientation.
"The Together community wants to achieve a workplace environment that is inclusive to all and we want to achieve this through collaboration with staff and external stakeholders and through being agile and forming a connected community right here at ICAEW."

What does Together do?
We meet once a month to talk about activities to promote inclusivity at ICAEW and to support LGBT+ colleagues. Together is Secretary to the Professional Services LGBT Group which brings together key employers in the accountancy sector, including the Big Four to discuss new initiatives and best practice. We participate in the annual Stonewall Workplace Equality Index survey.
Together works closely with the Diversity and Inclusion Hub to share stories, insights and good practice from across the accountancy profession.
