Highlights from the broader tax news for the week ending 6 June, including: an HMRC webinar on the agent forum; and the technical delivery partner for the Single Trade Window.
HMRC webinar on the agent forum
The HMRC agent forum provides a way for agents to raise widespread (rather than client specific) issues. Supporting evidence including client identifying details can be sent to agentforum.wt@hmrc.gov.uk, quoting the thread reference. An HMRC talking points webinar on 21 June 2023 will cover:
- the benefit of using the agent forum;
- proper use, including what HMRC expects from agents and what to expect from HMRC;
- good practices; and
- useful hints and tips
HMRC appoints technical delivery partner for single trade window
HMRC has announced that it has chosen Deloitte, working with IBM, to build and maintain the platform on which the single trade window (STW) will be hosted. The STW will create a single gateway for all transactional data from traders into government. HMRC will work closely with Deloitte and IBM to ensure stakeholders’ views continue to be fed into the STW’s design.
