As part of its efforts to support members in meeting their continuing professional development (CPD) requirements, ICAEW has expanded the application of its AddCPD tool.
AddCPD is a pop up that appears on the bottom right-hand side of icaew.com webpages that enables logged in members to add their engagement with ICAEW content as a verified activity on their digital CPD record.
This tool means that members can add the articles they read, podcasts they listen to and reports they download from ICAEW to contribute to their verifiable CPD hours.
In a new development, the tool has been expanded to also enable members to verify their use of the ebooks provided via the Bloomsbury Accounting and Tax Service.
The service, which is available to all members of staff at eligible firms, offers access to more than 80 titles covering core accountancy and tax topics. Examples include the full text of all the international standards on auditing, a step-by-step guide to the sale and purchase of private companies, and the corporate governance handbook.
There are also guides on capital allowances, corporation tax, customs procedures, inheritance tax and off-payroll tax.
How to verify ebook reading as CPD
To verify engagement with any of the Bloomsbury ebooks, members will now be able to click on a pop up next to the link and add the details of their reading, as they do with other pages using the AddCPD tool.
The pop up will activate after you have clicked on the link to the resource. So once you’ve finished reading go back to the icaew.com page you clicked from and you’ll be able to add the reading as a verified CPD activity.
