Conference 2025: what can you expect?
ICAEW’s Corporate Reporting Conference 2025 on 9 June is firmly focused on amendments to UK GAAP arising from the Periodic Review 2024.
Taking place at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London, this full-day, in-person event will feature speakers from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and accountancy practice.
Attendees will hear from the FRC about the context for the Periodic Review 2024 amendments, including the regulator’s approach to updating UK accounting standards, and how it balances global consistency with proportionality.
Meanwhile, expert speakers from practice, including RSM’s Danielle Stewart, will take a deeper look at the revenue recognition and lease accounting changes. They will also explore some of the more complex aspects of the new requirements and highlight practical tips to help you prepare for implementation.
Breakout sessions will then offer delegates the chance to discuss the real-life implications of the changes with their peers. The sessions will also cover other Periodic Review 2024 amendments and what transition might look like.
The conference will end with a panel discussion, looking ahead to what’s next for corporate reporting, covering non-financial reporting, UK GAAP and digital reporting.
Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions throughout the day, and to share ideas with the government about the upcoming non-financial reporting review.
Tickets start from £175+VAT, find out more and book your place.
Periodic Review 2024: ICAEW resources
ICAEW’s Technical Advisory Service has published a series of helpsheets providing tips for members on preparing for the new requirements of FRS 102. Alongside practical tips on tackling the amendments, there are helpsheets focused on revenue recognition, small entities and other changes.
Meanwhile, the Corporate Reporting Faculty has collated its support, which all ICAEW members and faculty subscribers can access, on its Periodic Review of UK GAAP hub.
The faculty has recently published a factsheet, FRS 102 Periodic Review 2024 amendments, offering an overview of the changes, along with practical tips and guidance. More factsheets will be published in the coming months covering revenue and lease accounting changes, alongside an ongoing series of By All Accounts articles exploring different aspects of the changes.
Several on-demand webinars are also available, including a recording of the UK GAAP changes: prepare for implementation event, and a recent webinar focused on the leasing changes. The faculty will be hosting further webinars covering revenue and other Periodic Review 2024 amendments in the next few months.
