1. Assess your business needs
We offer two different apprenticeships , both of which incorporate our globally-recognised qualifications:
- The Level 4 Accounting Technician Apprenticeship includes the ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) and your students will be eligible to apply for the Business Finance Professional (BFP) designation.
- The Level 7 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship incorporates the ACA qualification, setting students well on their way to ICAEW Chartered Accountant status and giving you the option to offer the ACA on a government-funded programme.
2. Register your interest
Our Business Development team is on hand to help you decide what your options are. They can guide you through the process of how to set an apprenticeship up and advise on how you can get the most out of offering an ICAEW apprenticeship.
3. Become an Authorised Training Employer
To offer an ICAEW apprenticeship, you must become an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer. Your dedicated Business Development contact can help you navigate this simple process which is free of charge and usually takes three to four weeks.
4. Consider your funding options
Funding is available for employers who train apprentices. This funding is available whether you are a levy or non-levy paying organisation, in business, practice or the public sector.
The funding cap is £8,000 for the Level 4 apprenticeship and £21,000 for the Level 7 apprenticeship.
5. Create an apprenticeship service account
You will need to create an apprenticeship service account to set up and manage apprenticeships.
6. Select a tuition provider
Once you’ve created your apprenticeship service account you can choose a tuition provider to provide training for your apprentice. The tuition provider monitors a great part of the apprenticeship process and will help you review your apprentice’s performance and ensure they are adhering to the off-the-job training requirements.
7. Recruit an apprentice
The last step is for you to find the right candidate for your programme. We can support you by advertising your vacancy on ICAEW Training Vacancies or help you identify new talent straight from school.
