Transitional arrangements

Discover the transitional arrangements for the Next Generation ACA, and key dates you need to be aware of during the transitional phase (2025-2027).

Students who register as an ACA student from 1 July 2025 will follow the Next Generation ACA route. Students who register up to 30 June 2025 will have the opportunity to complete the current ACA qualification or, alternatively, transfer to the new qualification subject to the transition rules.

Our guiding principles

  • Transitional arrangements may apply to students in the system prior to July 2025 and will be pragmatic and fair.
  • Transitional arrangements are designed to avoid disadvantaging students with respect to completion. Progress will not be delayed; students should not be required to take extra exams.
  • Students who do not complete current ACA Professional Level or Advanced Level by the last sitting dates will be required to transfer to the equivalent module in the Next Generation ACA.
