As an ICAEW examiner it is essential that you maintain the quality and consistency of the setting and marking of examinations.

The Institute's professional examinations are one of its most important activities, selecting the future membership of the Institute. The quality and consistency of the setting and marking of the examinations is therefore critical.

The examiner role varies slightly depending on the stage - Certificate Level or Professional Level and Advanced Level.

Certificate Level - the examiner is responsible for the provision of questions and answers for the question banks according to the published test parameters and syllabus specification grids.

Professional Level and Advanced Level - the examiner is responsible for the production of exam papers and marks scheme according to the syllabus specification and also for the marking of these exams.

Examiners are required to work closely with team and senior moderators.
