Reports on examinations set out examiners' analyses and comments on candidates' performance. They aim to help 'unsuccessful candidates to identify those areas in which they lost marks and need to improve their knowledge and/or presentation; tutors in preparing candidates for the Institute's examinations; and future candidates by providing a commentary for them to use when working from past papers.'
Over the years, these reports have been issued under a number of different titles (including 'Examiners’ comments' and 'Examiners’ commentary') and have sometimes been combined with mark plans and/or illustrative scripts.
This page presents an overview of the historical reports on examinations held in the ICAEW Library collection. A complete listing of the Library & Information Service's holdings of reports on ICAEW examination papers is also available via our online catalogue.
Mark plans and examiners' commentaries for some recent examinations can be accessed online, in the exam resources section of the website.
