Technical Releases and representations: IT

1972–1991

Technical Releases on aspects of IT were issued as part of the numerical sequence of technical releases between 1972 and late 1991.

1991

The IT Faculty was established in 1991 and subsequently issued a number of Technical Releases on IT matters. The faculty provides products and services to help members and other business professionals make the best possible use of IT. It helps members keep up to date with information technology issues and developments. It also represents chartered accountants' IT-related interests and expertise and contributes to IT-related public affairs.

1992

From the start of 1992 the numerical sequence was replaced by named series, as detailed below. All Technical Releases issued since 1992 have been numbered sequentially in the year of publication prefixed by the name of the relevant series; for example, FIT 1/96.

1992–1996

The first named series for Technical Releases was simply called FIT which covered Technical Releases on Information Technology from 1992 to 1996.

1997–

Since the FIT series ceased, Technical Releases on IT-related matters have been published in a number of different series. One Technical Release was issued by the IT Faculty in 2007 with the series name ITF; other releases on IT have appeared in the TECH and AAF series.

The IT Faculty became the Tech Faculty in June 2019.

Representations

Representations were issued by the IT Faculty without using a named series until 2007 when the first ITF Rep was issued. A number of ITF Reps were issued during 2007:

Since 2008, representations relating to IT have been published in the main sequence of ICAEW REPs.
