What are your obligations under the CPD Regulations if you are maintaining your ICAEW membership but no longer work in a finance-related role?

Meet Daniella

Daniella Parsons became an ICAEW member in 2019. She left the accountancy profession soon after qualifying, but has retained her ICAEW membership.

Daniella moved into marketing and is currently a senior product marketing manager working for a large US media company. She is a budget holder and is involved in setting the budget within her area of responsibility.

Daniella's CPD requirements

ICAEW's CPD self-assessment tool confirms that Daniella is exempt from the CPD regulations because she is not in an accountancy and finance related role, nor is she a statutory director or trustee and her role does not carry any legal or financial responsibility similar to that of a director or trustee.

If Daniella takes on an accountancy or finance role in future, or her role changes to include legal or financial responsibility similar to that of a director or trustee, she will be required to comply with the CPD Regulations.
