In one tribunal an affiliate member and insolvency practitioner were severely reprimanded, fined £6,000 and required to pay costs for a number of failures in relation to their appointment as trustee in bankruptcy including:

• failing to comply with multiple insolvency regulations regarding his remuneration as trustee; and
• failing to comply with the ICAEW Code of Ethics when undertaking the sale of multiple assets without valuations or a marketing exercise.

An ICAEW member was reprimanded and required to pay costs for the failure to submit CPD records. They were also required to submit the outstanding CPD records to ICAEW. 

The Investigation Committee made the following orders by consent.

An ICAEW member was reprimanded and required to pay costs for being convicted of sending messages that were either grossly offensive and/or indecent/obscene or of a menacing character. 

Another member was severely reprimanded and fined £10,150 for multiple compliance failures including:

• failing to notify ICAEW of multiple accountancy firms; 
• engaging in public practice without PII; and 
• failing to have a money laundering supervisor for multiple accountancy firms. 

A member was reprimanded and fined £700 for multiple compliance failures including:

• engaging in public practice while a provisional member; 
• engaging in public practice without a practising certificate; and 
• failing to have a money laundering supervisor for multiple accountancy firms. 

A member was reprimanded and fined £1,050 for multiple compliance failures including:

• failing to notify ICAEW of an accountancy firm; and 
• failing to have a money laundering supervisor for an accountancy firm. 

Finally, one fixed penalty was issued for driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol in excess of the prescribed limit.
