The benefits

star

Earn as you learn

Apprentices are employees too, receiving a salary as they gain real-world experience. Through hands-on learning and practical application, you'll develop and apply your skills.

star

Globally recognised qualification

Depending on the apprenticeship level, you will complete the full ACA or its certificate level modules, which make up the stand-alone qualification ICAEW CFAB.

star

No student debt

Apprentices don’t pay tuition fees, so there’s no student debt to worry about. You’re still entitled to student discounts and can get an NUS card.

Open to everyone

Apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers. As long as you’re over 16, living in England and not in full time education you’ll be eligible to study an apprenticeship.

What is an apprenticeship?

An opportunity to go straight to work

Apprenticeships enable those with school and college qualifications to start studying towards a qualification and gaining practical work skills.

A chance to gain real world experience

By doing an ICAEW Apprenticeship, you will develop all the skills and training that employers are looking for now and in the future.

A step towards becoming chartered

An ICAEW Apprenticeship will enable you to start working in any sector and take the first steps to qualifying as a chartered accountant.

What types of apprenticeships are there?

ICAEW offer two different levels of apprenticeship, Level 4 Accountancy Technician and Level 7 Accountancy Professional.

The apprenticeship route allowed me to build key on the job skills, gain valuable experience and earn a salary so I took the opportunity to pursue the ACA Level 7 apprenticeship instead of the university degree option. Looking back I’m so glad I chose the apprenticeship route as the wealth of experience it’s given me has put me in an advantageous position for my career ahead.
