Celebrate trusteeship: enter the Charity Governance Awards

The Charity Governance Awards are now accepting entries. Good governance should be celebrated; these awards aim to recognise and reward charities and trustee boards achieving excellence by shining a light on the people who make change possible day after day and showcasing the stories that demonstrate how effective governance can transform lives.

Returning for the tenth and final year, there is a particular focus on how boards continue to evolve and improve equity and diversity, how trustees have used the challenges of the past few years to affect long-term change for their charities, and on the ways in which smaller organisations across the UK have improved impact.

Overall, the awards are free to enter and are open to all registered charities in the UK, with categories suitable for both large and small organisations. The most outstanding entry in each of the five categories will receive a £6,000 cash prize (as an unrestricted grant), with runners-up receiving £1,500.

In addition, all shortlisted charities will receive a one-year membership to the Association of Chairs and the chance to send a new member of their board on the Trustee Leadership Programme from Cause4. Our goal is to reward good governance and create opportunities for learning and improvement across the third sector.

Entering the awards is free and easy to do online. Submit your entry before 12 February 2025. Shortlisted charities are announced in April and representatives from shortlisted charities receive complimentary invitations to the exclusive awards ceremony in Central London on 3 June 2025, where the winners will be announced.
