Corporate Finance Faculty Technical Committee

The committee meets quarterly to support the Faculty in commenting on corporate finance issues, making representations to governments, regulators and other authorities, engaging with relevant bodies, developing and sharing insight, and promoting good practice.

Chris Jarvill
Chris Jarvill (Chair) Associate Partner, TAS Quality, EY

Chris leads the Quality & Risk team for EY’s UK Strategy and Transactions practice, and sits on the firm’s Risk Executive Committee. Prior to taking that role, Chris had c. 25 years’ experience in EY’s Transaction Diligence practice, having carried out many buy-side and sell-side investigations, in particular for large private equity clients. Chris qualified as an ACA in 1989.

Peter Croom
Peter Croom Director, Financial Advisory, Deloitte LLP

Peter is Quality & Risk Director for the Transaction Services business at Deloitte. Prior to taking a Quality & Risk Management role in 2022, Peter gained over 20 years’ transactions experience in Deloitte’s Transaction Services team leading numerous due diligence assignments, both buy-side and sell-side for a range of corporate and private equity clients. Peter qualified as an ACA at Deloitte in 1999.

Rick Thompson
Rick Thompson Managing Director, Investment Banking, N+1 Singer

Rick joined Singer Capital Markets in August 2020 from Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, where he was Head of Corporate Finance & Broking for 8 years. He has over 25 years' diverse financial advisory and broking experience in the small and mid-cap sector.

Katharine Johnson
Katharine Johnson Director, UK Advisory Risk & Quality, PwC

Katharine is a magic circle trained securities solicitor, who, before joining PwC worked inhouse in a European investment bank for 13 years. On joining PwC she initially supported the Capital Markets team, moving to head the legal and risk function of the Transactions business of the UK firm.

Amrit Mahbubani
Amrit Mahbubani Director, Investment Banking, Panmure Liberum

Amrit is a Director in the Investment Banking team at Panmure Liberum. Amrit joined Panmure Gordon (prior to its merger with Liberum Capital) in May 2022 as Director in Corporate Advisory. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst working within EY’s audit practice before joining the EY Capital Markets team. Most recently, Amrit spent 4 years at the FCA Listing Transactions department where he was responsible for oversight of primary market regulatory compliance with the UK Listing Regime (UK Listing Rules) and Prospectus Directive (Prospectus Rules) and the Market Abuse Regulation through review and approval of Circulars and Prospectuses produced by issuers of securities and working with Sponsor firms.

Sue Nyman
Sue Nyman National Director, Advisory Quality and Risk Management, Grant Thornton

Sue is a National Director at Grant Thornton in the Advisory Quality and Risk Management team which she founded. Prior to that she worked in corporate finance, specialising in advising public companies and due diligence. Sue has participated on a number of working groups in relation to public company and other regulation as a member of the CF Faculty technical committee. She is a non-executive director of an AIM listed company as well as sitting on a number of boards as a trustee specialising in finance and governance.

Dani Saghafi
Dani Saghafi Corporate Finance & Audit, Brunel Business School

Dani has two decades of experience in leading investigatory work in M&A, serving mainly SMEs. Five years ago she transitioned to academia with a mission to bridge the gap between academic research and professional practice. Since joining, Dani has led the Consulting Group at the Business School as well as the BSc Accounting programme. More recently, she has held a number of governance roles, including currently serving on the global Governing Council of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

Edd Saidu
Edd Saidu Technical Associate Director, RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP

Edd is an Associate Director in the Consulting Technical Team at RSM UK. An alumnus of the University of Liverpool and the University of Law (Chester) Edd is qualified as both a solicitor and a licensed insolvency practitioner. He works on policy and procedure and alongside risk and compliance. He utilises his legal background to provide advice on a wide range of technical issues focusing on particularly tricky areas of corporate finance regulation, restructuring and insolvency.

Kathryn Mansell
Kathryn Mansell Corporate Finance Manager, Old Mill

Kathryn leads the buy-side transaction support services at Old Mill, working specifically with owner managed businesses in the South West Region. Kathryn has worked in Corporate Finance since qualifying as a chartered accountant. She has gone on to obtain the joint ICAEW CISI CF qualification and been shortlisted as an Emerging Dealmaker in the South West Insider Dealmaker of the Year award in 2023.

Katherine Broadhurst
Katherine Broadhurst Partner, Corporate Finance, Azets

Katherine qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2019. Katherine leads Azets’ Corporate Finance Advisory services across Wales and the South-West and has more than 20 years of experience in advising SMEs on all corporate finance requirements, being awarded the prestigious title of Dealmaker of the Year at the 2022 Wales Insider Dealmaker Awards.

Moyra Grant
Moyra Grant Associate Partner, Deal Advisory Quality and Risk Management, KPMG

Moyra is Deputy Risk Management Partner for KPMG’s Deal Advisory Practice in the UK. She qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and has over 20 years experience in KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice. Moyra has advised both PE and corporate clients in a variety of domestic and global transactions and has extensive experience of due diligence and capital markets transactions. In her current role Moyra provides technical, professional practice and risk management advice to Transaction Services, Valuations, Corporate Finance, Infrastructure Advisory and Strategy teams. Moyra has been a member of the ICAEW Corporate Finance Technical Committee since September 2023.
