Gambit Corporate Finance has promoted Simon Marsden (1) and Sam Forman (2) to partner. 

Marsden co-leads Gambit’s business services sector team. He started his career with KPMG in Cardiff in 1992, training as an ACA in audit before joining the firm’s corporate finance team in Reading after qualification. He returned to Wales in 2002 to join Gambit.

Forman joined the firm in 2015 after finishing his degree in international business at Brunel University, London. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and achieved the ICAEW Corporate Finance Qualification in 2019. He was promoted to manager in 2018 and director in 2021, and leads Gambit’s relationship with Corporate Finance International, the global network of mid-market investment banks and corporate finance advisory firms, of which the firm is the UK member.

Hemal Pandit has joined Saffery as a corporate finance director in Bournemouth, as the company expands its national footprint. He has joined from RSM in Southampton, where he was an associate director. He previously worked for BDO in corporate finance, having trained as an ACA with KPMG’s audit team in Southampton.

Newcastle-based advisory firm RG Corporate Finance has recruited corporate finance director Jen Bassyouni (1), from Deloitte in London. Originally from Canada, she spent 10 years with Deloitte, training as an accountant in Edmonton and then moving to London to join the Big Four firm’s M&A team.

The firm has also recruited Andy Alexander (2) as corporate finance executive from Azets, where he trained as an ACA.

Interpath Advisory has recruited Stuart Mogg (1) from EY, as managing director to lead its financial services debt and capital advisory business. At EY, he was a partner, leading the financial services debt advisory team, part of the firm’s corporate finance practice. He spent seven years with EY, and before that worked for RBS and NatWest in financial services structured finance. 

Interpath’s UK financial services transactions team is headed up by ex-EY partner Nick Parkhouse (2), who joined the firm in March 2024. 

Matthew Jubb (3) has joined as managing director from Endless, the special situations private equity investor, where he led its Leeds office. He will be growing Interpath’s transformation and turnaround capabilities, as well as working closely with the firm’s M&A and value creation teams.

And Deepa Ramchandani (4) has joined from KPMG to lead its financial modelling team. She spent five years at the firm, where she had become head of technology business management and was in the UK operational executive leadership team. She has also worked for Capita and EY and has more than 20 years’ experience in financial modelling. She will lead the growth of the modelling team at Interpath, which uses technology-driven forecasting and budgeting for a range of services, including M&A, carve-outs and buy-outs.

Claire Spencer has joined PKF Smith Cooper as corporate finance partner from LAVA Advisory Partners, where she spent three years as partner advising on M&A. Prior to that, she spent 14 years working in corporate finance with Grant Thornton, and four years as corporate finance manager at BDO. She started her career training as an ACA with Ford Campbell.

HW Fisher has promoted Tanya Craft to partner. She has been with the firm 13 years and specialises in financial due diligence and valuations work.

Ensors Chartered Accountants in Ipswich has promoted Simon Martin to corporate finance and forensic accounting partner. He has been with the firm 10 years, having joined the firm’s corporate finance team from Scrutton Bland in Colchester, where he started his career, trained as an accountant and spent seven years.

BDO head of business restructuring, Mark Shaw, will take over as managing partner from the start of October 2024, succeeding Paul Eagland, who has been managing partner since 2016. Shaw joined BDO as a partner in 2006 from Moore Stephens, where he was also a partner, and had spent 13 years, initially training with the firm as an ACA.

Corporate finance advisory firm Shaw & Co has recruited Constantine Biller from EC M&A, where he was managing director, as a partner to lead its expansion across the north west of England. Prior to EC M&A he spent 17 years with Clearwater International in Manchester and before that three years with Livingstone Partners in London.

Johnston Carmichael in Scotland has promoted Ryan Milne (1) and Graeme Bain (2) to partner. Milne has been with the firm 11 years, is based in Dundee and advises businesses on growth and succession planning. Bain is based in Glasgow, specialises in restructuring and joined the firm from PwC in 2017.

HMT has recruited Neil Brown as debt advisory director from KPMG, where he worked for 17 years, having initially trained as an ACA in audit, before joining the firm’s restructuring team. He completed two secondments while at KPMG, to Lloyds Bank and to KPMG in Frankfurt.

Quantuma has recruited restructuring expert Brian Milne as a managing director in Scotland from AAB Group, where he was head of restructuring and debt advisory. Based in Glasgow, he will also work in the firm’s Edinburgh office. He previously worked for Deloitte and PwC.

Alvarez & Marsal has recruited Virginie Gasnier as a managing director in its EMEA debt advisory practice in Paris from Natixis Partners, where she was also a managing director. Prior to this, she worked in the private debt team at Blackrock and as a managing director in structured finance at BNP Paribas for more than 12 years.
