Promotions and those on the move in corporate finance advisory.

PwC has recruited Charles Chang as corporate finance partner from advisory firm Arma Partners, where he was a managing director focused on the tech sector. He also played a key role in the sale of large software companies to private equity firms and international strategic acquirers. Prior to Arma, he worked for the Canadian Bankers Association in Toronto, The Valence Group (now Piper Sandler) and Capital SCF in London.

Stuart Davies has been promoted to corporate finance partner at Grant Thornton. He has been with the firm 14 years, initially training as an ACA in audit, before joining its corporate finance team 10 years ago.

Moore Kingston Smith has promoted Adele Hebditch (1) and George Hatswell (2) to corporate finance director. Hebditch joined the firm in 2021 from HW Fisher, where she trained as an ACA in audit, before moving into its corporate finance team on qualification. Hatswell joined the firm in 2015 and trained as an ACA before moving into its corporate finance team.

PEM Corporate Finance has promoted James Lewin (1) to manager and Cameron Rothwell (2) to assistant manager. Lewin joined in 2022 from Mercer & Hole, where he spent four years, training as an ACA before moving into its corporate finance team.

And Joshua Adu (3) has joined as an executive from KPMG, where he was an assistant manager. He spent five years with KPMG, where he trained as an ACA.

RSM has appointed Stuart Clowser (1) as head of private equity. He will lead the multi-disciplinary team which advises private equity on funds, transactions and portfolio companies. He has been with RSM 20 years, trained with them as an ACA and was promoted to partner in 2016. He is a member of the BVCA’s accounting committee and succeeds Charlie Jolly, who spent nine years as head of private equity at the firm.

The firm has recruited Rob Bayliss (2) as a financial modelling partner in its deal services team, from Grant Thornton, where he co-founded and led the firm’s financial modelling service. Prior to that, he worked at EY and PwC. He has also previously chaired the ICAEW’s committee on financial modelling.

And restructuring advisory specialist James Hawksworth (3) has been promoted to partner. He is based in the firm’s Reading office and joined in 2018, from Crowe. He previously worked for Harrisons and before that spent 11 years with Deloitte and two years with Smith & Williamson (now Evelyn Partners).

Buzzacott has promoted James Wood to corporate finance associate director. He joined the firm three years ago from Azets. Prior to that he spent eight years with Roffe Swayne, where he trained as an ACA, before moving into corporate finance.

Sam Reynolds has been promoted to associate director at Bishopsgate Corporate Finance. He joined the firm last year from PEM Corporate Finance, where he spent six years, initially training as an ACA in its audit team.

Alvarez & Marsal has recruited Manuel Sammut (1) to its EMEA corporate finance practice as a managing director and head of business and tech-enabled services within the practice. He was previously a managing director with William Blair and a partner at KPMG, where he successfully led its business and tech-enabled services M&A practices in Europe and the UK. He previously spent 11 years in investment banking with DC Advisory.

And Duncan Morpeth (2) has joined the firm as a corporate finance senior director, to head up a new team covering Yorkshire and the North East. He has joined from Grant Thornton in Leeds, where he spent 13 years, initially in audit, where he trained as an ACA, before moving into corporate finance.

In France and the Benelux region, the firm has also recruited Emmanuel Cresseveur (3) from Credit Suisse as managing director to lead a new financial services industry M&A team. It has also recruited Franck Guilhem-Ducléon (4) from RBC Capital Markets as a director in the same team.

And in the firm’s EMEA debt advisory practice in Paris, Virginie Gasnier (5) has joined as a managing director, from Natixis Partners.

Interpath has appointed Russell Worrall (1) as head of advisory in the UK. The advisory practice includes many service lines, including M&A, transaction services, debt advisory, valuations and value creation. Worrall joined Interpath in 2021 from PwC to develop the firm’s transaction services business. He was a transaction services partner at PwC, where he spent 24 years, after qualifying as an ACA with Baker Tilly (now part of RSM). He succeeds Mark Raddan, who was recently named as Interpath’s new CEO.

And director Sam Birchall (2) has been appointed head of special situations M&A. He joined the firm three years ago from KPMG, where he was associate director and spent seven years, including three years training as an ACA.

BDO has promoted Shivani Kotecha to senior manager in its transaction services team. She joined the firm three years ago from Hazlewoods, where she trained as an ACA, before moving into its corporate finance team. Kotecha featured in Career Paths in the April issue of Corporate Financier.

Max Perry has been promoted to associate partner in Hurst’s corporate finance team. He joined the Manchester firm two years ago from Camlee, where he spent six years. He previously spent four years with Deloitte, where he trained as an ACA.
