The final recommendations from the Committee on Corporate Governance which cover the role of directors; directors' remuneration; the role of shareholders; and accountability and audit.
Background
The Committee's recommendations eventually became the Combined Code of Corporate Governance (1998). They were derived from a combination of recommendations of both the Cadbury and Greenbury Reports hence the name 'Combined Code'.
The Combined Code became the UK Corporate Governance Code in 2010. Responding to the financial crisis of 2007/8, the Code was strengthened on board diversity and risk.
