E-commerce trade commission seeks evidence on barriers to selling overseas

Author: ICAEW

Published: 30 Apr 2024

The commission is aiming to identify challenges to e-commerce and how these barriers can be broken down.

ICAEW sits on the board of the e-commerce trade commission, which aims to support up to 70,000 more SMEs to start or grow their export business. The commission is producing two policy papers that will include policy recommendations to address barriers to businesses selling online to overseas customers.

To inform the papers, the commission is holding evidence sessions around the country. ICAEW members are encouraged to get involved and share their experience. The sessions are primarily aimed at SMEs who are looking to export or who have recently started exporting. Members in practice who may have experience of supporting businesses in this position are also invited to share their views.

The following sessions are currently planned:

22 May 2024 West Midlands Oldbury, Sandwell
19 June 2024 South East Virtual session
