He explains, with practical examples, red flags to look out for and steps you can take to mitigate the risk to your business. Simon Shooter, Partner, Bird & Bird
Simon is the head of Bird & Bird’s International Commercial Group, and established the firm’s cyber security team in 2010. He is a commercial lawyer engaged in providing a full spectrum of legal support to clients for their day to day business. Whilst that support has a broad scope, including the buying or selling of goods and services and the outsourcing of business processes, a constant feature of his work is technology. He works in the core of Bird & Bird's sweet spot - assisting businesses to rise to the challenge of technological change. Simon is also experienced in helping his clients with their compliance programmes, designing and implementing measures to address the United Kingdom Bribery Act, the Modern Slavery Act and the Network and Information Systems Regulations among others.

Sean has over 20 years commercial experience in cyber/information security and technology. He was previously Group Sales Director at IRM Ltd, the World Class Centre in Cyber Security of Altran Technologies SA, the global innovation and engineering consulting firm. Prior to that, Sean was responsible for leading consulting sales at Siemens Insight Consulting.
