Hello to all Tech Faculty and Excel Community members – and a very happy new year to you.
As part of their subscription, Tech Faculty members can access all of our past publications, including our back catalogue of Tech Essentials, the short introductory guides which were originally bundled with your bimonthly Chartech magazine. Some of these have been particularly popular, and some are now a little out of date, so we have started a refresh of some of the most pertinent ones. The first updated and refreshed Tech Essentials guides are now available for you to enjoy.
First we have the Essential Guide to Audit Tech. This is our introduction to the technological innovations that are driving improvements in audit quality across the profession. As well as updated case studies, in this updated version we also cover some of the developments caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the latest thinking from the FRC.
Secondly we have the Essential Guide to Robotic Process Automation. The powerful automation tool has been touted as a potential revolution in efficiency, but in practice it doesn’t always come out as expected. Our paper will help you identify what RPA is all about and how to judge a potential automation project on its merits.
As well as these publications, I also wanted to highlight some upcoming webinars for your calendar. First, on the 21st January, I will be joining modeller Danielle Stein Feinhurst, Rickard Wärnelid of Mazars, and Andrew Berkley of the FAST Standard Organisation to discuss financial modelling standardisation, on a free webinar hosted by Full Stack Modeller. You can register for that event here.
The following week, on the 27th, I will be hosting our third free Excel Tip of the Week Live: Your Questions Answered webinar. This is an open Q&A webinar in which I will be answering your Excel questions, live and unscripted, with nothing off the table. If you have any kind of burning spreadsheet question that you want to put to an expert, then come and sign up.
This is just the start of what you can look forward to from your Tech Faculty in 2021 – plenty more to come still. Thanks all and hopefully see you on one of our webinars soon.
